Violence can be looked at in so many different ways. 

Why do couples abuse each other when they are in a relationship and/or marriage? Why would someone you love or that is close to you hurt you like that? There are many explanations- Usually a profile "signs" of an abusive partner is low self-esteem, trouble trusting others (practically you) and controlling. The person usually comes from a family where there was violence, although it may be denied.

It amazes me how often a woman will stay in a marriage that's abusive for the children or due to her not having an education-money basically a way to be able to support herself.

Behind the walls of the home, domestic violence plays out in communities across the World each day. Sometimes a man will inflict harm/ pain on his wife. Sometimes it is the other way around. Tragically, sometimes children are the victims of domestic violence. I believed-With so much at stake, responding to violence against women & men should be a top priority for everyone.

I've recently had a dear friend go through an abusive marriage. 

 She never admitted her husband yelled at her or hit her until one day she no longer could hide the bruises because they were on her face.

I will never forget her words to me.

"He told me I deserved it" "I caused him to have a bad day"

" I just thought if I let him hit me, he wont hit our daughter"
